Responsabilities
The technical is responsible for
implementing daily operational aspects of all issues in the field of communications, event planning and monitoring & evaluation related to the project
processing technical aspects and further developing the area of responsibility in accordance with the specified quality standards
maintaining of a good flow of communication and information between all involved staff members of the programme, institutions and counterparts and GIZ
ensuring that the processes in communications and monitoring and evaluation run smoothly
taking on additional project management tasks in advisory processes to the PAU Rectorate based on need
Tasks
1. Project Management in the field of Monitoring and Evaluation
The technical professional
Coordinates and assists the Monitoring and Evaluation processes of the programme across all three locations in Algeria, Cameroon and Ethiopia. Coordinates with involved consultants in the field of M&E.
ensures the timekeeping of adequate monitoring data submission by the project staff
oversees the regular and complete updating of the monitoring tools
Prepares and documents operational planning meetings and ensures that the planning is aligned with the expected results (expected outcome and output) of the programme and pro-actively informs and guides the team.
Ensures regular status quo reporting and exchange in the programme team on the achievement regarding the results matrix of the programme and identifies need for adaptation and steering. Continuous documentation.
Ensures reporting of the programme on the outcomes, outputs and activities, sustainability and effectivity criteria as well as lessons learnt and risks.
Contributes to the development of new programme proposals including assessments on gender, climate change, environment and conflict sensitivity and measures.
Coordinates the cross-cutting theme of gender equity in the programme.
2. Project Management in the field of Communication
The technical professional
Coordinates PR and communications processes of the programme. This includes the compilation and publication of the quarterly newsletter, the updating and development of other communication products such as fact sheets, standard presentations and others.
Coordinates with the responsible communication focal points at the other programme locations as well as the GIZ AU Office in Ethiopia to ensure alignment and efficiency.
Assists in advisory processes in the field of communications supporting the Rectorate of the PAU. Coordinates with consultants involved in the advisory.
Supports events, workshops and trainings of the programme located in Yaoundé in the organizational aspects and with regard to documentation and distribution of results.
3. Other Project Management Tasks
The technical professional
Supports international advisers in carrying out their work supporting the Rectorate of the PAU.
Ensures knowledge management: collects processes and distributes relevant information and ensures documentation and archiving.
Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
Required qualifications, competences and experience
University degree in social sciences or communications, ideally with a focus on evaluation and monitoring and reporting of results.
At least 3 years’ professional experience in relevant positions
Working experience in development cooperation programmes
Working experience in higher education institutions or related programmes is an advantage
good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
strong organisational competence, pro-active and efficient working style
team orientation, experience with working in an international team, valuing diversity
willingness to travel (abroad) regularly
excellent knowledge of English and French, additional knowledge of German is an advantage
willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
Expected starting date: As soon as possible
Contract duration: One-year extensible
